2pm: Readings & discussion by writers-in-residence Mia Gallagher and Paul Perry
IADT and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Arts Office are pleased to announce a series of themed public events hosted by IADT/DLRCoCo Writer-in-Residence Mia Gallagher. The events will be held on the last Saturday of every month in the Tea Rooms, the People’s Park, Dun Laoghaire, from November 2009 to April 2010. (Note: There will be no December event and the March event will run on the second-last Saturday of that month.)
The sessions are free of charge, open to all and will run from midday to 4pm. The format is open, meaning you can drop in and out during the day. An exotic mix is on offer, including workshops, Open Mic, an East-West Fiction Slam, a Poetry Coffee Morning and the opportunity to listen to exciting contemporary Irish writers read and talk about their most recent work.
Each session centres on a particular writing genre – from crime fiction to drama. You can also set up individual consultations with Mia to talk in detail about any writing project you might be working on. Space for these is limited to two per month and will need to be booked in advance.
